Proudly Thame is founded and funded by Scott&Young Ltd, a Thame company. It is free to join and always will be. Why we do it ›
Proudly ThameOne mark. One town.

Three

The mark

A numbered decal for your window, and a badge for your website, emails and social profiles. It is the whole point of Proudly Thame, so it is worth being precise.

What it means

That this business is independent, locally owned, trades in Thame or OX9, and has signed the Proudly Thame pledge. A small claim, honestly made. It is not a quality award, not an inspection, not a recommendation. It is a statement of belonging — and it is checked.

What it is not

It is not for sale. You cannot buy the mark, and no amount of money moves you to the front of anything that matters. A mark you can purchase is an advertisement wearing a badge, and everyone works that out eventually.

How it is checked

Three points, done by a person, usually within two working days.

  1. You trade here

    In or around Thame / OX9 — a shop, a stall, a workshop, or a locally-based service.

  2. You are independent

Independently or locally owned. Not a branch of a distant chain.

  3. You sign the pledge

Five short promises. That is the whole test.

Light, but real — and if it stops being true, the mark comes back. Anyone in Thame can challenge a mark they think is wrongly displayed, and we will look at it.

The pledge

As a Proudly Thame business, we promise to:

  1. Represent Thame proudly

Trade honestly and take pride in being part of this town.

  2. Stay genuinely local

Remain an independent, locally-owned business rooted in Thame and OX9.

  3. Treat people fairly

    Customers, staff and suppliers alike.

  4. Support our own

Promote, and where we can buy from, other Proudly Thame businesses.

  5. Use the mark honestly

Display it only while we qualify, and take it down if we no longer do.

Five

Two levels, explained plainly

OX9 active

Proudly Thame Gold

For businesses live on OX9.app. Featured placement in campaigns, priority in the printed guide, offers that reach OX9 members directly, first refusal on market pitches.

And the part we are not going to be coy about

OX9.app is a paid product from Scott&Young — £95.94 a year at the founding rate. So Gold does, in the end, sit behind something you pay for. It is a separate product, sold on its own merits, with its own pack and its own numbers.

If you never take it, nothing is withheld. The navy mark, the listing, the feature, the campaigns, the guide — all of it stays yours, free.

Using the mark

Display it as supplied

Field colour signals the level. Ring wording signals founder status. The artwork itself is identical across all four versions and is never redrawn.

  • Never recolour, restyle, redraw or re-typeset it
  • Never stretch, squash, rotate or tilt it
  • Never add drop shadows, glows, outlines or borders
  • Never place navy on navy, or gold on gold
  • Never combine it with another logo inside a single lockup

Minimum sizes: 90mm window decal · 40mm print · 64px digital badge. Any material carrying the mark should be checked with Scott&Young before it goes to print.
