Free to join, free to leave, and honest about what the mark does and does not claim.

The Proudly Thame pledge

As a Proudly Thame business, we promise to:

  1. Represent Thame proudly

    Trade honestly and take pride in being part of this town.

  2. Stay genuinely local

    Remain an independent, locally-owned business rooted in Thame and OX9.

  3. Treat people fairly

    Customers, staff and suppliers alike.

  4. Support our own

    Promote, and where we can buy from, other Proudly Thame businesses.

  5. Use the mark honestly

    Display it only while we qualify, and take it down if we no longer do.

Terms of use

1 · It is free

There is no fee to register, no subscription and no renewal charge. There never will be for the standard mark.

2 · What you are given

A non-exclusive, revocable licence to display the Proudly Thame mark — physical decal and digital badge — for as long as you qualify. The mark itself remains the property of Scott&Young Ltd.

3 · Eligibility

You must continue to trade in or around Thame / OX9, remain independently or locally owned, and keep to the pledge. Tell us if that changes.

4 · Numbering

Each physical decal carries a number tied to your record. Do not transfer it to another business, another owner or another site without telling us.

5 · Honest use

Display the mark as supplied. Do not alter its colours, proportions or wording, place it on materials implying an endorsement we have not given, or use it to imply inspection, accreditation or a quality award. It is a statement of local belonging, nothing more.

6 · Challenge and removal

Anyone may challenge a mark they believe is wrongly displayed. We will look into it and respond. If a business no longer qualifies, or uses the mark dishonestly, the licence ends and the mark must be taken down.

7 · Ending it

You may leave at any time — tell us, take the decal down, remove the badge. No notice, no penalty, no exit fee.

8 · Proudly Thame Gold

The Gold edition of the mark is for businesses active on OX9.app, a separate paid product of Scott&Young Ltd. Gold is entirely optional. Nothing in this agreement is conditional on it, and the standard mark is unaffected by whether you take it.

9 · Your data

We hold what you give us on the registration form to run your listing and contact you about Proudly Thame. We do not sell it or pass it on. Ask us and we will show you what we hold, correct it or delete it.

10 · Plain terms

This is a goodwill scheme, not a commercial contract. Nothing here creates a partnership, agency or employment relationship, and neither side is liable to the other for business losses arising from it.
